Citizens Seek Immediate Mitchell Lake Action

Local business leaders and lawmakers pressed for rapid fixups of Mitchell Lake south of San Antonio. Wastewater work aims to cut odor by 1975 with plans to dry out the lake or convert it into a recreational pure-water site. Dredging resumes soon as EPA and state actions spurred city improvements, while officials consider legislative steps to eliminate the lake within two years. The Southeast Chamber elected James N. Martin as president and named Pat Holmes and W. P. Brown as vice presidents.

The Texas Railroad Commission’s refusal to intervene in a Lo-Vaca gas dispute was appealed by Austin, San Antonio and the Lower Colorado River Authority in Travis County court. The suit seeks hearings or rescission of Lo-Vaca sales contracts amid alleged discriminatory diversions and possible statewide allocation of dwindling gas. Texas Utilities Fuel Co. is among the nine contracts under contention, with broader impacts on commercial and industrial gas supply and electric power for Central Texas.

Gonzalez Pursues New Tactics After House Defeat

Washington Representative Gonzalez unveiled a new plan to restore 40 million for vocational training after a 464 to 100 House vote against his amendment. He will seek Senate support to restore a 650 million rail allocation for training, following last spring's 40 million Nixon administration cut. Goodwill Industries and the Texas Commission for the Blind say San Antonio agencies are affected by the reduction. Gonzalez called the Friday vote timing unfortunate due to many members' absence.

San Antonio Public Notice Listing Readway Street

A fragmented public notice from San Antonio appears to reference a publication order and filings. Names such as MiCullough and Antanie appear in the garbled text alongside locations in Texas. The readable fragments suggest an official notice regarding property or legal filings in the city.

Fragmented OCR data on travel and ads from foreign markets

OCR text shows mixed numbers and phrases about daily rates and locations across the Americas and Mexico. The legible items mention daily only prices, amounts in dollars, and references to Sundays, May dates, and various place names, but much of the data is garbled, incomplete, or out of context. The readable elements point to a listing-style page with rates and currency figures rather than a cohesive article.
