Drouth Aid Extension Studied Across South Texas
The agriculture department reviewed a report on extending the drouth relief program in a South Texas area bounded by San Antonio Laredo and Mc Allen. Robert McLeaish FHA chief said 15 to 20 counties may need help if rains fail this drought season while Texas judges pressed relief requests in Washington during talks on emergency aid. The report came as the Forrestal began a five day trial run as a new class of carrier.

Ruling May Cut Taxes for School Property Exemptions
Attorney General Lollar ruled that any school owning its property and using it exclusively for school purposes is tax exempt. The opinion overruled county and state officials who said Durham Business College property was taxable. The decision could enable other schools to claim exemption on real estate used for school purposes.
