Governor Neff delays enforcement of the tick eradication law to August 1 due to financial conditions. A committee of county judges and county commissioners from Wharton, Fayette, Wilson, Columbia, and Tewns counties urged postponement after a San Antonio conference. The group plans to maintain the organization and meet as needed to support the effort, while other counties signaled willingness to join.
