Credit Users May New Challenge From Law Enacted
Washington reports a new law gives credit users the right to know what is in their files and to challenge entries. The Fair Credit Reporting Act codifies practices by agencies and requires notification when investigations affect credit, employment, or insurance. Banks and employers gain limited access while consumers may dispute and add explanations.
