In New Jersey chaos followed a devastating depot explosion near Lake Denmark. New York July 23. The first week of the subway strike cut Interborough Rapid Transit revenue by 239,399.30 from the year-ago week. Company officials say most strikers stayed away past the 24 hour deadline. two or three days remain before expected collapse of the stoppage. Motorman Willam Ordell, 50, is held on an involuntary manslaughter charge after a crash at Dan Cortlandt Park terminal that injured one woman seriously. London reports a London signed settlement between France and Great Britain covering war debt and remaining accounts. Chancellor of the Exchequer Winfrey announces figures totaling about 12.46 million pounds annually for the payment schedule and final term adjustments.
Mr and Mrs Whitehair announced the marriage of Larmore Larmore and Vie Whitehair, performed at the Methon Protestant parsonage in Philadelphia. After the ceremony the couple resided briefly in Philadelphia before moving toward Negara Falls.
A Texas text committee demanded drastic cuts in biology books including the chapters on human development and evolution. The revised pages remove sections on man’s evolution and the theory of evolution while seeking approval from the Texas Textbook Commission.

Grakelow, Director of Public Welfare in Philadelphia, was elected without opposition and urged Elks lodges to serve as civic centers for patriotic and charitable activities.
