Dover New Jersey July 12 lightning struck the Lake Denmark Navy depot thirty miles from Jersey City causing a massive explosion. Ten killed three bodies recovered seven seen in debris one hundred million dollars in damage. About thirty miles of destruction with houses shaken and vehicles overturned amid ongoing shell and fire threats.

188 Strikers Back in Regular Service

Three Injured in Interstate Car Collision Near Benevola

Three people were hurt near Benevola on the state road when the cars of J W McCoy of Martinsburg and Frank L Hiser of Belair collided. McCoy and wife and Miss Alice Ebersole were taken first to a Boonsboro physician, then to Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. McCoy’s car overturned after the sideswipe and occupants were rescued from beneath the wreckage.
