Saline City Council race sees two candidates declare
With an October 13 filing deadline looming for the November election, only two men have taken out petitions for Saline City Council seats. Incumbents George Anderson Edward Marsh and Jack Measley hold two year terms expiring. Anderson announced his bid citing a decade in Saline government and numerous civic roles. Measley may decide soon while Edward Marsh has not yet committed. Richard Nehring filed petitions and more petitions are expected to follow in coming days.

Saline cross country opened the season with a 23 to 32 victory over Clinton as Jeff Lewis and Mike Makiel ski placed 2nd and 3rd and Joe Kerkau 5th. Veterans Tom Mikesell and Jim Martin were 7th and 8th as Saline built a 23 point total. The Hornets beat Pinckney on Tuesday and host Dexter at 4 p.m. Thursday behind the middle school course.
