Steer Club Livestock Sold At Fair Auction
Saline county steers commanded varied prices at the Saline Steer Club sale during fair week. Mary Alice Girbach’s 1040 pound steer topped at $1.03 per pound from LeuthEuser’s Restaurant, with bidders paying high per-pound sums for quarters and other animals throughout the auction. Several steers sold for 60 to 74 cents per pound to multiple buyers including Fireside Lounge, A and B Machine Tool Co., and local banks and services.

Saline Lamb Club Auction Honors Grand and Reserve
Saline Lamb Club held its annual auction at the Community Fair. Brian Singleton’s grand champion lamb sold for 3.00 per pound to Jule Bier, and Jeff Denison offered the reserve champion bought by Ford Motor Co at 2.30 per pound. Jody Denison won the showmanship award, Judy Herter’s prize lamb sold for 1.50 per pound to Ren Rogers and resold to Michigan Livestock Co with proceeds to the fair board. Jody Denison’s lamb placed fourth and sold to Citizens Bank for 1.10 per pound.
