Young Saline Mother Dies in Ontario Car Crash

A 19 year old Saline mother Helen Ann Gilbert died with her unborn child in a two vehicle wreck near Rodney Ontario. Husband Brian Gilbert 26 and their 20 month old daughter Kimberly Anne were injured but survived. Kimberly Anne suffered facial lacerations and a broken leg. Funeral services were held in Sherbrooke Quebec.

City Officials Plan FHA Talk Over Crestwood Knolls Subdivision

Councilman George Johnson and Attorney Allan Grossman will meet FHA officials to present resident complaints about Crestwood Knolls. Some buyers report unmet specifications and poor satisfaction with the developer while others say defects were corrected. Residents are invited to submit written complaints at City Hall by September 19, with Johnson available September 19 from 10 a.m. to noon.

CF Group and Jaycee Auxiliary launch a citywide door to door canvass for Cystic Fibrosis funds. Capacity Crowd Turns Out for Fair Opener

The 1964 Saline Community Fair opened with a capacity crowd. Judging nears end in home economics and displays cover flowers antiques and hobbies. The Saline Community Hospital shows a $540 wheeled stretcher and a circle electric bed donated by Universal Die Casting. Livestock tents feature steer lamb dairy cattle chickens and rabbits with many sheep. Officials hope for a record attendance if weather holds.

Saline Auxiliary Board Plans Smorgasbord and Meeting

The Saline Community Hospital Auxiliary directors met at the president Mrs Paul Woods Sr home to plan year programs and set committees for the October smorgasbord.
