Car Hits House on N Harris Street Causing Major Damage
A northbound car on N Harris Street crashed into Rexall Roberts house at 311 N Harris around 2 30 am causing over $1 000 in damage including a broken window buckled wall and a hole about a foot in diameter. Driver Greg Martin Etzel said a girl bicyclist crossed in front of him and another southbound car crossed into his lane causing him to lose control. Police report additional local incidents including vandals at Curtiss Park a stolen bank bag and a recovered bicycle. Mayor Denzil Griffiths was sworn in as ceremonial chief and Brecon Welsh visitors planned a choir event at the high school auditorium.

All Saline area residents invited to a York Township Bicentennial Open House at York Township Hall on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm with exhibits and a post program dramatic event. A 40 voice male choir with Brecon guests performs at 7 30 pm, and Brecon visitors depart for a multi city tour ending with a return to Brecon next Friday.

Pittsfield in Quandary Over 201 Grant Plan Split
Saline City Council narrowly voted 4-3 on September 13 to join the first phase of a 201 sewer grant plan. the resolution was rescinded October 11 in a similar 4-3 vote after Councilman Harry Miller switched to Nay. Township Supervisor Robert Lillie calls the move disappointing and warns time is running out for grant applications under the 208 regional planning program.

Saline Council Hosts Brecon Visit and Legal Win
