Saline residents recall Risdon's historical marker on cemetery hill, the county's first erected in 1954 by Washtenaw County Historical Society. Ann Arbor schoolchildren built it, Saline students cared for it, and Dr. Clever Bald addressed the dedication with a view on history.
At Risdon’s house in Saline visitors, including schoolchildren, see original timbers and adz marks from early homesteading days. Knights of local history maintain the site with maps, pictures, and early town beginnings, inviting tours by appointment for individuals or groups.
The Big Guy Boner Band from Ann Arbor won the Jaycee Band Battle 73 final beating Noah Blindside and Alexis. A record crowd of 1,200-plus watched the field of 10 groups compete for nearly $2,000 in prizes. Bruce Gordon Gebhardt earned best vocalist and Ken Morgan of Alexis named best musician. proceeds fund Saline Jaycees community projects.

The Saline police reported March property losses totaling 4937.60 with recoveries of 2115.50. Larceny caused the most losses and recoveries, malicious destruction cost residents 496. In March 35 area accidents were investigated, involving 67 vehicles, with two deaths and seven injuries.
Donald R. Holbrook of General Telephone Co in Saline has finished a basic key installation course. The program trains employees to install, maintain, and service multi line key system equipment. Holbrook, a Bel Air High School El Paso graduate, has worked for the company since 1971 with wife Patricia and two children.
