Saline Blood Drive Surpasses 200 Pints

Saline Blood Donors Reach New Gallon Milestones

Neilson Watling of N. Lewis St joined a select group by reaching four gallons and tallying 32 pints. Saline Police Handle Two Accidents and Vehicle Chase

Saline police handled two traffic accidents on June 21. Geoffrey Spickard, 13, was struck by Timothy Bredernitz as he backed from a driveway on Ann Arbor Street. no serious injuries and no ticket. Pamela Landi, crossing Whitlock to enter J C Family Foods, was struck by Marion Mahnke. Landi cited for failing to yield. A June 6 high speed chase ended in 14th District Court with a 17 year old pleading guilty to fleeing an officer and facing possible penalties.

Saline to install rubber guideposts at four corners

Saline Police Chief Jim Levileit says yellow rubber guideposts titled Ugly Little Devils will be erected at the four curb cuts at Michigan Ave and Ann Arbor St to mark pedestrian zones after curbs were removed for barrier free access. The devices aim to prevent close vehicle contact with pedestrians and will spring back after impacts. The city acts to prevent injuries despite no reported incidents since curb removal.
