Funeral services were held at Lockwood Funeral Home for Fred J. Hartman 85 of Pittsfield township following a long illness He was born October 12 1874 in Saline township and married Mathilda Henes in 1906 She died in 1945 Survivors include son Melvin Hartman two grandchildren brother Reuben Hartman five sisters and a host of relatives The Rev H L Engle officiated and burial was at Oakwood Cemetery. The article also notes a complete cemetery card index prepared by Ela M Clarke of Ypsilanti and a copy for the DAR.
