The Saline Connie Mack junior baseball team led by coach Wes Gall won two straight games at Curtiss Park and Vet's Park. Al Miracle pitched a one hitter in the 3-1 win over Belleville with 11 strikeouts. Dennis King had two doubles and three RBIs in a 6-4 win over Lane.

Saline Junior Track Meet Highlights Local Students
The Saline area held its fourth annual Junior Track and Field meet for third through sixth graders on June 2 with about 300 participants. Winners included Karen Osman high jumping, Tracy Waldo in sprints, Rex Witten long jump and dash, Randy Douthat two titles, and numerous others across boys and girls divisions from fourth to sixth grade.

Dam reconstruction after the June 1968 flood advances with masonry, backfill, and deep piling. Steel radial gates and controls arrive to reassemble the pond and regulate water levels and downstream flow. Completion is targeted for September.
