The May 31 event in the Middle School gym hosted by Mrs. Rita Teresa and Ronald Boland honored over 300 students with certificates. Ann Arbor Area Chapter Trout Unlimited presents a fly fishing school on Saturday June 9 from 1 to 4 p m. Instructor is Rod Towsley a leading Michigan fly fishing expert and Scientific Anglers salesman. TU aims to involve local youth and foster future programs in the sport.
The Saline High School 1923 alumni plan a weekend gathering with 11 attendees. Of 24 graduates, 16 are living and six reside in the Saline area. several listed attendees include Clarke Rouse, Ruth Aprill McNamara, Elmer Feldkamp, Dorothy Spitler Heininger, Lucille Schill Levleit, and Walter Heininger among others.
Saline High School Alumni Association plans a reception and Swiss steak dinner at the SHS cafeteria on Saturday June 9. The event honors all grads especially 1973 with a prize for the class gathering the most attendees. Proceeds fund an Alumni Association scholarship for a 1974 SHS graduate. Reservations via several local shops and banks. call numbers provided.
Saline Area Social Service will send at least 26 fourth to seventh graders to church or YM YWCA camps this summer. Most come from families unable to afford camp fees and were referred by school counselors. The agency seeks donations to its Campership Fund to cover costs.
