The Saline Jaycees held the 1976 Service Awards Banquet on January 20 at Leutheuser's. Honorees included Woodie Merchant for Distinguished Service, Jim Hankamp for Outstanding Young Man, and James Burmeister for Outstanding Young Farmer. Merchant and Hankamp lauded for community roles. Burmeister, 24, named Outstanding Young Farmer.

Bicentennial Birthday Party At Saline Hospital
Helen Phillips of Mark Hanna Court turned 72 while a patient at Saline Community Hospital last Thursday. Her husband Lyle and daughter Violet Mallory organized cards gifts and visitors with Violet providing a chocolate cake. Grandchildren in Blissfield phoned in birthday wishes as staff and friends shared warm moments and a hospital photo was taken at the bedside.
