Saline City Council convened for a brief session last Monday. Mary Hess was unanimously elected Mayor Pro Tem. Welcome Home Hoefts From California Trip
Owen Hoeft and family returned from a California visit that included the Rose Bowl game. They landed at Detroit Metro after a blizzard on Sunday night and found Michigan cold at 11:30 a.m. The photo was taken within an hour of arrival as Owen put on warm clothing and started chores back home.

Police Warn Hit-Runners In Saline Week
Saline Police reported an unusually high number of hit and run incidents, possibly weather related. Det. Sgt. Saline Planning Commission backs Washtenaw Association for Retarded Citizens to operate a group foster care home at 213 E Michigan Ave with a two year special approval from Feb 15 1977 to Feb 14 1979. Approval requires eight residents and two counselors and adherence to codes. The panel’s recommendation goes to the Zoning Board of Appeals and City Council. A false alarm and a separate Saline fire on Bemis Road caused minor damage to a residence with no injuries.

Sue Wolf 19, a Michigan State University rodeo rider and Saline native, has been chosen to represent Saline in the International Rodeo Association Miss Rodeo U.S.A. finals to be held January 1923 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She has competed in barrel racing and goat tying, earned MSU rodeo letters, and competed at the National High School Finals.
