Ronald E. Wild 20 suffered minor injuries after his car collided with a vehicle driven by John E. Monroe 24 of Saline on Monday afternoon.
Saline Jaycees launch their annual search for the Distinished Young Man of the Year for 1962. Nominees aged 21 to 35 may be submitted via entry blanks to Dave Hess at 1555 Willis Rd before January 16. The award is presented at Bosses Night Banquet, with nominations also sought from churches, businesses, clubs and organizations. Last year’s winner was Dr Rudenz Douthat. 1960 winner was Arthur Moehn.
The Frank Brittain home on Pond View was cited by Jaycees for first place in the annual Christmas home lighting contest. The Brittains will receive a plaque for beauty and originality of their decor. Runners up were the E. J. Muir home the Frank Harms home and the Walter Rehan home.
Rules detail eligibility for the 1962 Jaycee Award recognizing leadership and service to the Saline community. Nominees must be 35 or younger, with specified cutoffs, and nominations due by January 16, 1963. Address nominations to Dave Hess at 1555 Willis Road, Saline, Michigan, with a completed nomination form and eight qualification points.

Saline High defeats Manchester 48 to 32 as Johnson scores 12 and Tucker 11 to lift the Hornets to a 2 2 conference mark before Chelsea Holiday tournament play. Manchester top scorers were Mitchell 13 and Bunney 11.
The Methodist Church Circle meetings, postponed from January 1, will be held on Wednesday January 2 at the following places Dorcas at Mrs Anna Manns home at 2 pm Mary L at Mrs Warren Martin Jr s home at 8 pm Esther at Mrs Walter MacArthur s home at 8 pm Ruth postponed.
The Saline area Business Development Corporation SABC has one option on 160 acres in Pittsfield Township and empowers two officers to act on a $1 option. They seek building sites for industries moving to Saline, with no current leasable buildings. The group aims for 100 members, named George Johnson as director, Paul Tull to replace the vice president, and will hold quarterly meetings while gathering data and courting new industries.
Mrs. David C. McHenry of Atlanta was critically injured in a fog bound auto crash near Saline Thursday night. Her husband escaped with minor injuries. she survived a five hour operation and faces further procedures while relatives assist with three grandchildren.
