Michigan State Fair Opens With New Features in 1973
The 1973 Michigan State Fair debuts a Festival of Foods with demos and tips, an animal petting farm, and an Around the World in 80 Days style balloon ride. At Woodward and Eight Mile Detroit the event runs noon August 23 through Labor Day September 3 with 13 entertainers, two auto thrill shows, 23 free horse shows, livestock and handicraft displays, and daily star performances at 4 30 p m and 6 30 p m except Labor Day.
