Safety Man Urges Tractor Driver Age Hike

Michigan State safety engineer Richard Pfister urges farm youths not to drive tractors on highways without car licenses citing 28 of 72 tractor highway deaths since 1955 involving under 14. Bryce Doran of Sault Sainte Marie counters training matters more than age, arguing proper on farm training makes youths safer than older, less trained drivers. Chicago police hunted a supposed man eater in a downtown office building, a false alarm showing unseen menace in the Loop.

Funeral Rites Held Wednesday for Frank O Randall

Frank O Randall 71 of Saline township died suddenly Sunday at the family cabin near Harrison Michigan. He was born November 2 1889 in Macon township and married Gertrude Aten in 1910 Tecumseh. A longtime mechanic at Wiedman Ford he retired in 1953. Surviving wife four daughters one son sixteen grandchildren six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services 2 pm Wednesday Bahn Miller Funeral Home Rev T W Menzel officiating burial Ridgeway Cemetery.
