School Board to Discuss Millage on Ballot

Quarterly Trash Pickups May Be Discontinued
Latine May 4 set for a special rubbish pickup as the city tests a new packer that can handle a couch and perhaps a refrigerator. The old dump truck will be unused due to cost and time, and after May the unlimited quarterly pickups may end. City DPW superintendent Clyde Wellwood noted the department now collects double what it did a year ago.

Library favored in Saline Jaycee survey findings
Saline residents rate library services highest among city offerings with 42 percent excellent and 36.3 percent good. Dam restoration and pond restoration are a priority for 76.4 percent willing to pay 3 to 5 dollars yearly for 10 years, while 12.1 percent favor a park plan and 2.8 percent oppose changes.
