Police report multiple crimes from April 8 to April 11 in Saline. Items stolen include a calculator and tape player from Saline High School, a snowmobile and trailer at Chandler Drive, a chain saw from City Lot 2, and a TV from Saline Community Hospital. A gas station theft occurred around April 8. Several suspects are named in some cases. others remain open or under investigation. Police made 117 runs last week with traffic and criminal arrests and juvenile apprehensions.

Vandals Strike Oak Hill Cemetery in Saline Township
Last Friday night vandals desecrated Oak Hill Cemetery destroying about 50 monuments dating to Saline’s pioneer era. A Civil War veteran resting there is identified as R. C. Tripp of the 4th Michigan Cavalry. Bill of beer cans and a cash register slip were found, prompting township officials to plan further repairs at a meeting set for Saturday April 24 at Oak Hill.

Jaycees Band Battle Ends With Top Prizes Awarded

Klompen Dancers Delight Saline Crowd On Spruce-up Day
The Klompen Dancers from Holland Michigan performed across Saline sites including the B and B parking lot Leutheuser lot and Westside Shopping Center lot then capped the day with kicks at the Evangelical Home. A shoe broke mid performance but the dancer continued. The group was imported by the Saline Area Business Association to boost Spruce-up Days.
