Mrs Sam Boyd is hospitalized in Tecumseh with a broken arm and injured shoulder after a collision while returning from the Adrian Fair. Traveling with her daughter Mrs T J Ireland and grandson Vernon, their car group failed to signal as a leading vehicle turned off. Mrs Ireland and her son escaped with minor injuries.
Trinity Lutheran Church invites members and friends to its annual Mission Festival next Sunday with three services. Dr. Hinor Anderson of Michigan Lutheran Seminary Saginaw preaches in the morning, Rev. G Albrecht Dexter speaks in German at 3 PM, and Pastor S Westendorf Monroe leads the 8 PM service with war relief focus. An offering is taken at each service for mission work.

Miss Agnes Geraldine Walsh of Detroit and Harold Wacker of Milan united in marriage on Saturday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. H. L. Engel officiated. Her sister Mrs. Katherine Karnaske of Wayne served as matron of honor with Arthur Stork of Milan as best man. A wedding dinner followed at 6 o'clock at the home of the groom’s parents in Milan.
Announcement this week confirms the engagement of Miss Jean Joan Jordan daughter of Mr and Mrs Leslie Jordan of West Michigan Avenue to Earl Scruggs son of Mr and Mrs Claud Scruggs of Saline. The wedding is set for October 4 at the Methodist Church.
Saline merchants and others are urged to prepare floats for a parade at the Saline Community Fair. The event begins at 8:15 p.m. Saturday October 4 with a Trophy for the best merchant float and a Junior Trophy for the best school float. Floats form at the school grounds and entrants should arrive early to avoid delays.

The Ladies Aid Society of the Federated church schedules its annual meeting and officer elections for Wednesday afternoon in the church parlors. All annual reports will be read and the overseas relief box will be packed at the close. Refreshments are arranged by Mrs. Orpha Birkle, Mrs. Maurice Henderson, and Mrs. Lewis Ernst.
Rita Wall and Dean C Burkhardt wed in a September ceremony at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev H L Enge officiated the double ring rite as Barbara Spike of Saline sang The Lord's Prayer. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Wallo, wore white chiffon with a sweetheart neckline.
Osgood announces plans for Saline County Community Fair starting Sunday with rodeo at City Park. New features include County Rabbit Show, horse pulling contests, tractor backing, flower show, educational programs, and two fireworks displays. The schedule runs Sept 28 to Oct 2 with parades, auctions, dances, and a grand midway finale.
