First Barn Gutter Cleaner Becomes Michigan�s First
Martin H. Geerlings of Route 3 Holland devised Michigan’s first dairy barn gutter cleaner. The home made contrivance cost about 75 dollars and saves hours of hard labor. It uses scrap materials and a mower reduction unit driven by a gasoline engine. State extension specialists endorse it for labor savings and sanitation.

Michigan trapping ban eyed for Lower Peninsula raccoon
A commission report proposes one year trapping prohibition on raccoon in most of the Lower Peninsula north and west of Saginaw Bay with exceptions for specific date ranges in 1944.
