Theodore Feldkamp visited Ypsi Yanti on a business trip while new sidewalks were laid on West Henry. Ann Arbor’s Cahow and others attended Saline business and social events. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Finkbeiner on Sunday. Eileen Martin won first prize at the county piano contest. Numerous visits, fairs, shop changes, and local incidents fill the period.

Layher Family Reunion at Duck Lake near Albion
The Layher family reunion held Labor Day at the Duck Lake club house near Albion drew 80 attendees despite rain. Officers were elected for 1928 with Fred Layher Sr. as Honorary President and Rudolph Layher as Vice President, among others. Relatives traveled from Los Angeles to Albion for the gathering.

Helen Moore attends Saline High School this year. Mrs Emma Drake spent last Wednesday with Mrs Bert Moore. Mr and Mrs Ralph West of Detroit visited Jacob Kinsley on Sunday. Mr and Mrs William Winekorf and their Wayne baby called on Bert Moore’s family Monday. Bert Moore’s family hosted Mr and Mrs Rothenbacher and family Sunday. Mrs A Rodger, at the U of M hospital, is very sick with slim recovery chances.

County political conventions set in Ann Arbor this week
The Washtenaw County Republican and Democratic conventions are scheduled in Ann Arbor with the GOP meeting Wednesday and the Democrats Friday evening. The Washtenaw Brotherhood plans a September meeting at Stony Creek M E Church with music and an evening address by Rev. H E Spader. Mr and Mrs C A Curtiss returned from Kentucky to move their son Bliss to the Kentucky Military Institute for another year as school opens on the 19th with football training at Clifton Country Club grounds near Versailles.
