Detroit Edison plans major Washtenaw County power upgrades
Edison announces completion of several expansion projects to strengthen Washtenaw County electricity supply. A seven mile 24 000 volt line from Superior Station to Argo Substation will serve Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. New substation on State Road north of Waters Road aims at 14 000 residents. Distribution and switching stations expand capacity to 40 000 kilovolt amperes. Transmission capacity doubles to 40 000 volts in southeastern Washtenaw. New supply lines link Reno Freedom and Lima substations. Emerick Substation upgraded to serve about 40 000 people.
