Judson Wallace Wheelock aged 84 longtime Pittsfield resident died Friday after a brief illness. Born December 30 1851 in Pittsfield township he married Sarah Suddaby February 25 1875. Survived by daughters Mrs Frank Hollis Saline and Dott Wheelock Dexter sons John and Ward Pittsfield four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral 2 30 Sunday at home with Rev Roy Miller officiating. Interment Oakwood cemetery.

Unique Political Record Noted for D F Slayton of Billings

D F Slayton of Billings Montana long time observer subscriber earned recognition at the Montana State Republican convention for a singular electoral record. He has voted in every state and national election since 1880, rarely missing local ballots, and once rode 30 miles through a snowstorm on horseback to the polls. He always supported a straight Republican ticket yet believes every citizen should vote regardless of party. He is brother to Mrs C H Carven and Mrs Slayton formerly Miss Mary Ottmar, with many relatives in the area.

Legion Meeting at Dundee Highlights District Event

The local American Legion and Auxiliary attended the Dundee district meeting Sunday led by Commander and Mrs. Carl Moehn and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burkhart. Delegates reported on the National convention in Cleveland. The two organizations spent over 2.5 million dollars nationwide on direct emergency relief to needy World War II veterans' children, funded by poppy sales aiding wounded service members. The Auxiliary thanks the community for a successful forget-me-not Sale despite bad weather.

National Preaching Mission Planned by Saline Churches

Denominational groups prepare for a National Preaching Mission starting November 15 with a week of simple direct sermons. Ministers from cooperating churches will speak each night through November 22 except Saturday. In Saline the Federated and Methodist Episcopal churches join, with Rev. Roy Miller and Rev. Bert Hole delivering sermons.
