20th Anniversary Of The Willing Workers

The Willing Workers club marked its twentieth anniversary at Miss Fannie Friis home on October 19, with a three course dinner for fifty. Officers were elected: President Ils Luckhardt, Vice President Ethel Stoddard, Recording Secretary Ruth Hanson, Corresponding Secretary Mary Finkheiner. A toastmistress led a varied program of songs, toasts, history, and roll calls. Distinguished guests included charter members and past presidents, plus Mrs. Stella Wood and Mrs. McMann. The gathering concluded with a memorial service and a poem, then adjourned to plan the November dinner.

Free Show for Saline Children at High School Gym

The Saline area prepares a free film night at the high school gym on Tuesday at 7 45 PM for local children. A feature film a Michigan wildlife reel and a local comedy reel will be shown from a three film order including Douglas Fairbanks The Americano. Merchants back the effort praised for keeping the night respectful to property and sacred to past Halloween traditions.

Mrs Elizabeth Lindemann Dies at 76 in Lodi Township

Mrs Elizabeth Lindemann aged 76 died Monday at her East Henry Street home. Born January 18 1857 in Germany she came to the United States at 18 settling in Lodi Township. She married Gustaf Lindeman in April 1888. he died in 1921. Survived by daughter Mrs John Kohler Jr of Saline Township five sons Adolf Joseph Gustav Otto and Julius all of Lodi Township 18 grandchildren and brother Christian Waltz of Ypsilanti. Funeral was held yesterday at residence and Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Adolf Lederer officiating. Interment was in Lodi.

Public Supper by Federated Church Ladies Aid

The Ladies Aid of the Federated church will host a public supper on Wednesday evening, November 1 at 5 30. Adults 35 cents, children 25 cents. Menu includes chicken and biscuits, mashed potato, baked squash, pickled beets, white and brown bread, jelly, apple pie with cheese and coffee.

Busy Times For Young People Of The 4-H Clubs

Saline Junior 4-H Benton and Corn clubs plan a doughnut party at Bridgewater with Rotarians invited. The event is social with no exhibits. In early November the clubs will exhibit in the high school gym with canning cooking sewing for girls and handiwork feeding and livestock. Club leaders are Eben Girbach Albert Gall Florence Wiedmayer and Arthur Lutz. A Rotarian club dinner follows, with about 150 attendees last year.

State of Michigan Oil and Gas Bureau questioned

Religious Workers Meet in Chelsea November 2
