Home life blamed for high tuberculosis deaths among young women
Dr. W J V Deacon of the State Health Department says the high TB death rate for women aged 15 to 29 stems from home life rather than industrial work. He notes outside employment has little impact and urges more upper school and college education to address the issue. A field study with the Michigan Tuberculosis Association will gather data on 1929 deaths to guide prevention efforts.
