Choice of Shot Shells Crucial for Upland Game
The article argues shell selection matters as much as gun fit, noting No 4 shot lacks the pellet count of No 6 or 7 1/2. It warns beyond 40 yards patterns falter without higher pellet density to fill the gaps, urging hunters to match loads to targets and distances.
Choke choices and lead times for bird hunting
The article discusses shotgun choke selection for different game and ranges, noting full and modified chokes favor closer targets while improved cylinder suits most birds except ducks. It explains sighting, timing, and the need to gain field experience to reduce misses, urging more hunting hours in Michigan. It ends with local notices about events and a funeral service listing with family names and burial details.
