Thirtieth year open season notes and local updates

Thirty years ago the water fowl hunting season opens but quail and woodcock hunting is delayed until October 20. A warm fall is noted. Thieves broke into A. Clark’s furniture store Sunday night and took a small amount of change. A new walk has been laid on East Main street along J. M. Rosse and A. J. Warren properties. Dr. Wallace rents land of Mr. Barman between the Hall residence and C. Rogers’ barber shop to build an office, with work to start next week. The final payment for the Baptist church building fund is due, and late payments should be settled to avoid delaying the project.
