Farmers Offered Government Tool Repair Course at School

The local school board accepts a government program to repair farm tools during the war. John Cornish will teach a six week course beginning Tuesday November 28, with sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. No charge. farmers should bring broken tools and enroll to save time and money for next spring.

Rotary Club Hear Prosecutor Rae On County Office Roles

Saline Rotary Club hears John W. Rae describe the prosecutor's office as adviser to county officers and head of arrests, noting roughly 2 000 cases yearly and urging voter selection of a capable official. Guests included Arthur Hininger and local and out of town attendees. A Korea talk by W Carl Rufue and Edson Gale on China and General Stilwell recall followed the luncheon.

East Lansing November 10 Saline Observer reports George Cook earned Eagle Scout rank in Troop 46 Saline. Bob Clay, born in 1920s era, earned Eagle in 1940 and served in the U S Navy studying radio at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He trained at Great Lakes Navy Training Center last summer and remains proud of his achievement.
