127th Infantry returns from large Louisiana maneuvers
Camp Livingston, La Sept 29. Relatives were told the 127th Infantry completed the largest peace time field exercises, under Lt General Walter Krueger, with 2100 officers and men. They endured night marches, river crossings, and forded swamps, suffered only one death from heart failure, and kept up three hot meals daily aided by a mobile stage and chaplains. The unit praised leadership, morale, and health, and reported regimental improvements and a strong showing in simulated combat ending with a triumphant return.
