Dairy profits to continue through 1950 says MSU economists

Michigan State college agricultural economists predict dairy product prices will average near 1928 levels in 1950 with higher supplies but strong demand. Milk output may rise 2 to 3 percent and per pound milk buys more dairy ration. They forecast seasonal price shifts and advise culling, balanced rations, and improved feeding. Fluid milk sales stay level while more milk goes to butter and cheese. In 1950 1951 farmers should raise milk cow numbers and dairy prices likely outlast hogs beef and poultry.
