County to Do Dust Laying Work in Washtenaw
Sixteen townships have contracted for dust laying treatment by the Washtenaw County road commission. In the Manchester District only Sharon and Bridgewater have contracts. Residents in Manchester Freedom or Saline may apply and pay to Wilbert Buss or the county road commission at Ann Arbor. Cost is three dollars per hundred feet with a nine dollar minimum. early application helps ensure service while the truck is nearby.

Easter Seal drive tops $8000 in Washtenaw County
The 1953 Easter Seal Campaign in Washtenaw County raised 8016.14 with Ann Arbor leading at 5088.67 and Ypsilanti at 1461.25. Chelsea and Dexter contributed 513.96 and 264.03 while Manchester Milan and Saline gave 175 150 and 100 respectively. Schools donated 114.35 and ministers 121.68.
