The Federated Church plans a Mother's Day service with carnations for living and memorial flowers for the departed, plus a special offering and music. A booster banquet in Ann Arbor promotes Washtenaw County fairs, with speakers from the University of Michigan and local townships urging support and outlining fair benefits and reforms.
The Liberty theatre presents Anita Stewart in Sowing the Wind, touted by management and critics as a peak screen showcase. Audiences will see Stewart in a demanding role that highlights her range and dramatic interpretation.
Governor proclaims Sunday May 14 1922 as Mother's Day urging worshipers to attend services. Hammond School Church reports eighty in attendance last week and looks for larger turnout next Sunday. Miss Youn teaches Hammond School. students performed a play titled the Happy Hour. The day includes a 10:00 service with special address and music, Sabbath school at 12:30, Epworth League 6:30, Junior League 3:31, and Peoples service 7:30.
The Christian Science society of Saline holds Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. in the hall over Citizens vault. A testimonial meeting is planned for Wednesday evening at 7:30. Sunday school is held after the morning service for children under 20, with reading room access on Wednesdays.

Clifford E. Bassett died suddenly from heart disease on Saturday at the Absopure Ice Company plant in Detroit. He was about to place a purchased piece of ice in his car when he was stricken and died within moments. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at his late residence 2046 Atkinson Avenue with Rev. Walter R. Fruit officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery Saline. Bassett, born in Saline about 58 years ago, lived with his parents on the farm north of town, graduated from Saline High in 1881, studied at the University of Michigan, served in the railway mail service on the Detroit-Chicago run, and for 12 years led a large Detroit insurance agency. Surviving are his widow formerly Miss Hattie M. Ford of Saline, two daughters Miss Nareens a Cass High School teacher and Miss Aletha a Northern High School student in Detroit.
The Ladies of the M P church at Britton Saline host a musical entertainment The event takes place Thursday evening May 25 under the Ladies Aid Society of the M E church Admission is 25 cents.
