Eighth graders from six rural districts visited Saline High School last Thursday for an afternoon of classes, band performances, plays, and sports demonstrations. Visitors toured, watched a Milan vs Saline game, and enjoyed a picnic with ice cream before evening entertainment led by George Austin and Mrs Wiggs.

Workmen led by Gerald Green have reinitiated drilling at the Lime Lake oil well after casing and removing tools lost last autumn. The bore is now over 1100 feet deep and near the previous 1350 foot oil find. If productive, the dig could boost the local community. officials expect 10 to 12 days to reach the oil target.
