The Michigan Secretary of State reports a rise in operators covered by the financial responsibility act since October 17, 1933. Most cases involve drunk driving rather than unpaid damage, with 9,872 drivers barred for drunk driving through April 29, 1937, and a 23 percent rise in the first three months of 1936 to 1,088 cases. Clergymen at St Pauls Cathedral receive a bottle of sherry wine.
