Sowing New Brand of Clover in Michigan Fields
The Farm Bureau reports at least 1000 acres of Hubam clover will be planted in Michigan this year versus 12 acres last year. The annual white clover, touted as sweeter with less wood, matures in the planting year and can reach four to seven feet. County farmers, including Ralph Kimmen and Homer Rutherford of Ypsilanti, C. D. Finkbeiner of Saline, W. T. Shutterworth and William Every of Washtenaw, are growing it as demonstrations inspected by M. A. C. Experts say the new clover is superior to the old variety. Seed will be inspected by the state Farm Bureau.
