Roberts Keeps Quiet About Superstitions On Spring Pitching
Robin Roberts of the Phillies has shown no superstition in recent appearances, often batting lefty against tough lefties while adjusting his pants. He switched to a right-handed stance only once, bunting unsuccessfully against the Yankees. The ace says pants fit now, not superstition, as he continues to pitch. Bob Lemon ends a jinx by pitching a nine-inning win for the Indians over the Tigers, 5 to 2, his first complete game since May 30, 1955.
