Saline High juniors stage The Charm School
The Charm School was presented by Saline High School juniors to large audiences on Thursday and Friday. Leonard Hutzel played Austin Bevans who inherits a girls school and, with help from friends, learns charm is challenging. Cast highlights include Harrison Harwood as Homer Johns and Erma Thearer as Miss Hayes. notable folk dances and violin solos complemented the performance.

A. D. Crittenden of Saline Area Noted Local Leader
A. D. Crittenden born 1854 on a town line farm east of Saline pursued teaching at district and high schools then at Ypsilanti Normal College before returning to farm work to aid his father. He served as highway commissioner for eleven years and held posts as justice of the peace and school director. Now in his second Saline Common Council term, he remains active in church work and education. He married Hilla Cobb in 1878 and they have five grown children including Eugene, a Syracuse chemist with a doctorate. He sold the farm to Greenfield and Emar for subdivision purposes.
