The Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 Takes Effect
The act extends the AAA program and sets up ever normal grain reserves for corn and wheat with loans and marketing quotas. It applies to corn, wheat, cotton, tobacco and rice and strengthens the 1936 soil program. Four new research labs are authorized and the secretary may testify before the ICC on freight rates. Livestock needs may see price support via corn allotments and quotas if farmers vote yes. The home detail ends with a stray garbled line about husbands.
