Open House at Saline Hatchery Draws Attendees

The Saline Hatchery open house drew many visitors on Saturday with autopsy demonstrations by William Wisener of Michigan State College and a busy Friday banquet at the Methodist church for 60 guests. Guests from Detroit Ann Arbor and Chicago spoke on poultry topics and World Poultry Congress plans while prizes and displays from Quaker Oats Jamesway and local farmers attracted crowds.

Farmers Day at Herman Heininger's Ends With Bean Feast

The annual Farmers Day drew many farmers to Herman Heininger's place with 540 plates served at lunch. Mrs. Heininger led kitchen efforts in a bean heavy meal while C. D. Finkhbeiner's orchestra provided entertainment. A second drawing awarded prizes to listed attendees, with many present to celebrate the event.

Saline Rotary hears Wagner Act talk at The Tavern

Saline Rotary Club members heard Russell A. Smith from the University of Michigan explain the Wagner Labor Relations Act at a noon meeting at The Tavern. He noted the act has limited local impact, and the talk avoided one sided detail.
