Poor Potato Seed Costs Michigan Growers Millions
H. Moore of the Michigan Potato Producers Association and Michigan Agricultural College extension chief says poor seed costs growers millions yearly due to low yields. Certified seeds improve production, with Michigan exports of seed to Pennsylvania and other states. Only 22 percent of certified seed offered in 1922 stayed in Michigan, while 78 percent went abroad. Pennsylvania alone bought 40,000 bushels.
