Michigan officials urge swimming at guarded beaches or pools after 159 statewide drownings last year, noting 122 deaths occurred at unguarded waters. Most victims were men and boys, with two thirds drowning in June and August. Children should swim with companions and follow safety tips.
Bert Moore celebrated his 81st birthday with a family gathering on Sunday. His children and relatives, including Mrs. John Alexander and Miss Jiehleyer from Ann Arbor, joined the occasion at the family home.
