Production of Malik in Michigan
Milk production in Michigan during the first half of June failed to reach the usual seasonal peak. April output was 12 percent above 1946, and May ran about 5.5 percent higher than a year ago. June may dip slightly from 1946 if current trends hold, says Howard F. Simmons of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Delays were caused by farmers feeding high priced hay and grain to dairy cows in anticipation of pasture. Unseasonal spring weather and excessive rain prevented turning cows out to pasture in time for the annual flush.
