Duluth Seaway Dream Through Historic Canal Clash
Seaway Sam recalls Duluth 1871 clash with Superior over a canal that opened Duluth Harbor. The town defied injunctions with a night shovel drive, creating a major waterway now key to Duluth Superior Harbor and the Seaway initiative. Seaway plan envisions 2429 miles of nonley passage from Duluth to the ocean with 258 miles of needed work and a federal cost around 150 million dollars.
