Removal of Mead House From Cemetery Hill to W Henry St
Historic Mead House built 119 years ago by Saline founder Orange Risdon will be moved from Cemetery Hill to a site on West Henry Street. The colonial structure, once a pre Civil War Underground Railroad station, will be remodeled by new owners Mr and Mrs Erwin Schmid. The house holds Saline’s early history with notable firsts including the town’s first election in April 1830 and Risdon’s role as surveyor postmaster and innkeeper.
