Detroit Market sees milk receipts near balance in June
Milk receipts to Class I sales in June reached 157.73 percent of bottling sales, with 156.3 percent for federal order deliveries, narrowing the gap between supply and demand after May peak. Fluid milk sales rose 9.31 percent year over year while June shipments totaled 157.2 million pounds, down from May but higher than 1954. Detroit Market committee adopted more autonomy, naming Ernest Miller as chairman and listing officers. Fosdick Farm Bureau July meeting hosted a pot luck picnic with twelve families attending.
