Michigan State Transitions From College to University
EAST LANSING The official change in name from college to university became effective on Friday July 1. Legislation earlier this year authorized the change and updated the full title to Michigan State University of Agriculture and Applied Science. The new designation appears on the diplomas mailed July 1 to the 1955 graduating class. Commencement exercises were held June 5. The campus is gradually adopting the new name to conserve existing supplies bearing the old title.
